Abstract:
A research project was initiated in 2020 with the aim of molecular passporting of domestic maize hybrids that are certified for export, but also for the local market. The basis of the creation of these passports is the polymorphism of storage proteins from the maize grain (zeins) detected by electrophoresis on polyacrylamide gels in an acid environment, as well as the principle of co-dominance of the expression of the genes responsible for the synthesis of zeins when crossing the parental lines.
