dc.description.abstract The problem of population exposure to phthalates contamination is a major concern to international regulatory bodies, but also non-governmental organizations, environmentalists, etc. The rejection by Rospotrebnadzor of some Moldovan wine lots, under the pretext that it contains dibutyl phthalate, has caused not only material damage to Moldovan producers, but also enormous moral damage, with direct impact on the reputation of Moldovan wine industry. The article examines the issue of phthalates in general, the regulation of the problem at the national and international levels, possible ways of contamination of foodstuffs and the possibility to reduce these factors. en_US
