dc.description.abstract The technological advancements in traveling, globalization and also growth in international trade between many countries in the world have led to the rapid dissemination of foodborne pathogens. Salmonella genus is a serious foodborne pathogen that causes severe and sometimes fatal infections The increased number of NTS cases reported through surveillance in recent years from the United States, Europe and low- and middle-income countries of the world suggested that the control programs targeted at reducing the contamination of food animals along the food chain have largely not been successful. In recent years, the development of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) among foodborne pathogens such as Salmonella have been associated with an increased number of human deaths, longer duration of hospital stay, and high costs of treatment due to therapy failure. In this work, a literature review was carried out the genetic basis of the antibioresistance of Salmonella spp., isolated from the food. en_US
