Abstract:
Infestation with Dirofilariasis has widely increased in the Republic of Moldova. 123 dogs from different parts of Moldova were examined. Test evaluations for the detection of Dirofilariasis in dogs showed that 14,6% of the tested animals were infested with Dirofilariasis. The most effective diagnostic methods were the microscopic examination of the blood samples. Immunochromatography, a chromatographic method of immunoassay (immunoferment screening) method was used to differentiate the presence of microfilariae.
