Analysis of the food security through the prism of the self-insurance level of the Republic of Moldova

Abstract

The food-balance sheets have an essential role in determining the self-insurance level of the country in the food sector. The Republic of Moldova was over-insured with cereals and leguminous crops, except 2012 year. Our country was insured with vegetables and melons production in the analyzed period. Over supplying with fruit and grape production allows us to increase the export volume. The droughts from the recent years have also seriously affected the livestock sector. The Republic of Moldova was not insured with meat production in 2013 and 2014 years. We were insured with milk and dairy products and with egg production during the analyzed period.

Balanțele resurselor alimentare au un rol esențial în determinarea nivelului de auto-asigurare al țării în sec-torul alimentar. Republica Moldova a fost supra-asigurată cu cereale și culturi leguminoase, cu excepția anului 2012. Țara noastră a fost asigurată cu producție de legume în perioada analizată. Supra asigurarea cu producție de fructe și struguri ne permite să creștem volumul exporturilor. Secetele din ultimii ani au afectat grav sectorul zootehnic. Re-publica Moldova nu a fost asigurată cu producție de carne în anii 2013 și 2014. Am fost asigurați cu lapte și produse lactate și cu producție de ouă în perioada analizată.
