Particularităţi în osteosinteza oaselor lungi la animalele de companie

Abstract

This paper is focused on the surgical treatment of long bone fractures in pets. There were used metal plates and rods for extramedullary and intramedullary osteosynthesis. It was shown that the plates applied in extramedullary osteosynthesis unlike the rods applied in intramedullary osteosynthesis offer a more effective result on the fractured bone ends, therefore making shorter the period of animal healing.
