Abstract:
In 2008, elm trees – Ulmus minor from Republic of Moldova are affected by black sawfly from Arge (Hym., Argidae) genus of the elm tree. Defoliations take place in mass, causing total searing. The searing process started more than 10 years ago and still continues due to other defoliating species (Galerucella luteola Kirkaldy (Col., Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae); Rhynchaenus alni (Col., Curculionidae) and pathogen agents Ceratostomella ulmi Buisman. The researches on black sawfly from Arge (Hym., Argidae) genus on the elm tree continue; it could be a new sawfly species for the Republic of Moldova, that needs to be clarified additionally.
