Abstract:
The article argues the essence and role of the knowledge-based economy in the economic growth of the countries, including the Republic of Moldova. The author points out that the economic value of the knowledge society is not represented only by tangible and intangible assets, such as human capital. The human capacity to create and use effectively and intelligently new knowledge contributes to the permanent change of human society and, above all, to the development of entrepreneurial skills as a pillar of the sustainable economy. In this context, the role and contribution of university studies in educating entrepreneurship to future engineers is argued.
