Abstract:
The goal of this study was to identify the influence of several doses of fertilizers on the quality indices and morphological and physiological characteristics of Lactuca Sativa L. along with the influence of illumination conditions on nitrates accumulation in the leaves. The results show that plants growing at the illuminations of 7000 - 9000 lx have a bigger leaf area with higher accumulation of biomass. This illumination level has stimulated chlorophyll and carotenoids synthesis and the maximum was reached in the plants fertilized with 0,50 - 0,75 kg/m3 . The accumulation of nitrates prevailed on their metabolism in the first half of vegetation period and this trend was noticed in all variants. The maximum values have been noticed in fertilized plants grown at low illumination. During the second half vegetation, the level of nitrates has decreased significantly. The high level of nitrates was maintained in the leaves with low illumination level
