Abstract

Prezenta cercetare investighează epopeea arheologică din Valea Regilor, fixând ca obiectiv prioritar delimitarea adevărului istoric de straturile de mitologie modernă care au deformat percepția publică asupra evenimentelor. Cercetarea analizează rolul fundamental jucat de arheologul Howard Carter și de susținătorul său financiar, Lordul Carnarvon, a căror perseverență a condus la identificarea mormântului KV62 în toamna anului 1922.

This paper investigates the archaeological epic of the Valley of the Kings, setting as its primary objective the demarcation of historical truth from the layers of modern mythology that have distorted public perception of these events. The research analyzes the fundamental roles played by archaeologist Howard Carter and his benefactor, Lord Carnarvon, whose perseverance led to the identification of tomb KV62 in the autumn of 1922.
