The civil service and the status of the civil servant represent fundamental institutions of administrative law and the organization of public administration, having an essential role in achieving the general interest and in enforcing the law. The civil servant constitutes the main link between the public authority and the citizen, being called upon to exercise the attributions of public power under conditions of legality, impartiality and professionalism. The purpose of the study is to analyze regulations regarding the legal status of civil servants, highlighting their adjustment to European standards.
