dc.description.abstract It is now evident that Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the greatest breakthrough technologies of our time and it is not going to stop evolving and increasing its capabilities. It has impacted nearly every aspect of our lives, including the video game industry. AI is playing a crucial role in reducing the rising costs of game production by automating time-consuming and repetitive tasks, allowing designers to focus on more creative aspects. In addition, the application of AI in game testing can help automate and optimize the process thus making it faster and more effective. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of AI's current applications in the gaming industry, illustrating how it improves graphics and physics, while also enhancing player experiences by enabling innovative features, such as realistic NPC (nonplayable characters) behavior and aiding procedural content generation. Finally, the study focuses on the issues that are associated with the integration of AI in gaming. en_US
