Abstract

Different models of artificial vaginas were used to collect sperm from reproductive rabbits in order to influence the microbial contamination rate of ejaculation and consequently, the reproductive indices in does. The authors have developed a prototype of the artificial vagina using a shorter vaginal body, which uses a vaginal sack as a condom and that allows sperm protection after ejaculation directly into the collector cup, thus ensuring a reduction of microbial contamination of sperm, improving the biological quality indices of semen and also the reproductive indices of the artificially fertilized does.
