Abstract:
Moldova, with its rich viticultural heritage, cultivates a variety of indigenous grape varieties that are central to its winemaking tradition. Understanding the procyanidin content in these local grapes can provide insights into their potential health benefits and flavor profiles. FeteascA NeagrA typically contains a variety of procyanidins, including both monomers and oligomers (dimers, trimers, and tetramers). These compounds contribute to the overall phenolic profile of the wine. Procyanidins in FeteascA NeagrA contribute to its antioxidant activity, helping to neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress. This antioxidant capacity can enhance the health benefits associated with consuming the wine.
