Abstract:
Research was carried out on farms with traditional and industrial technology (pig complex) regarding the duration of the parturition period in clinically healthy and dystocia sows. It was established that in complexes, compared to farms with traditional technology, the duration of the parturition period (expulsion of fetuses) and fetal envelopes in sows is higher, correspondingly, by 2.5 and 1.43 times (p<0.01 and p <0.02). Morbidity in suckling piglets is higher in complexes (45.3%), when sows had dystocia (farrows lasting more than 5-6 hours) and the opposite was determined in farms with traditional technology with a lower level of illnesses (diarrheal syndrome) which made up 23.1%. Fetal asphyxia (intrauterine) can be considered a predisposing factor in triggering neonatal mortality.
