Abstract:
The challenges of the knowledge society raise new requirements for the competences of university graduates. The article reflects the current high demands of university libraries on the tendency to teach students how to get informed on the whole educational and professional route, to acquire new knowledge and skills necessary for professional and personal development throughout their lives. The culture of digital information is primordial. New approaches are needed to develop the technological and research skills of teachers and researchers. To meet these requirements, it is necessary to continuously train specialists from libraries with information literacy responsibilities.
