dc.description.abstract The sustainable development of horticulture on the territory of the Republic of Moldova requires the establishment of a specific level of development and direction of fruit growing specialization in each fruit growing area and sub-area according to the ecopedological, economic, social-historical conditions of the specific locality. For these reasons, the paper presents the results of the analysis of the structure and evaluation of the ecopedological conditions of the fruit growing plantations in the Ghindeşti locality of Floreşti, included in the northern steppe. As a result of the researches it was established that the ownership of the orchards in the existing orchards does not correspond to the requirements of the national economy. This can be optimized by slow organic reconstruction, well-known in world fruit production and directly in the Moldova. The particularities of the ecopedological conditions of the fruit tree plantations (relief, climate, microclimate, soil) have been highlighted. The variability of the productivity level of the different species of fruit trees has been established, depending on the ecopedological conditions of the named locality. It has been determined that the level of real productivity is below that of the ecopedological potential and more diminished than the productive level predicted in the concept of sustainable fruit growing. Increasing and sustaining the productivity of fruit plantations can also be achieved by optimizing the proportion of fruit trees, slow environmental reconstruction, and differentiated improvement of the entire complex of processes applied according to the ecopedological conditions of the production sectors. en_US
