| dc.description.abstract | It was 106 AD. Three roman legions lead by Trajan, the 13th Emperor of the Roman Empire, are marching towards Sarmisegetuza Regia, the Dacian capital. Their goal is to conquer the Dacia by defeating Decebalus "The Brave", the Dacian king fortifying inside the capital walls. Preparing for the worse, Decebalus gathered around him a trusted hand of people and together with them burries all the Dacian treasures in the nearby woods and under the Sergetia riverbed. After an eroic fight, Decebalus was defeated by treason, Sarmisegetusa burned to the ground, most of the treasure discovered and acquired by romans.Over time the remaining hidden fortune raised the interest of several parties such: archaeologists, historians, Romanian state officials, art collectors and antiquities thieves. In this paper we are inviting you in a journey to discover the fabulous story of thirteen bracelets, part of the Dacian treasure and how these artefacts changed the world’s perception about the Dacian civilisation. | en_US |
