dc.description.abstract Burnout syndrome is considered to be the disease of the century, and cases are multiplying from year to year. The number of people who are missing work due to burnout is increasing constantly. As a result burnout seems to have become a mass phenomenon, receiving daily more and more attention. A stressful lifestyle put people under extreme pressure, to the point that they feel exhausted, depressed, burned out, and unable to cope. The most common symptoms of this syndrome are lack of motivation, a sense of workplace futility, a decrease in energy level, physical and mental exhaustion, frustration, a decline in work productivity, cynicism or different negative emotions, interpersonal problems at home and at work or even health problems. Most of the time, this phenomenon occurs without realizing, takes employees by surprise and quenches their energy, leaving them demoralized. Fortunately, there are measures you can apply to combat chronic stress and regain your positive attitude. Social contact, a 30-minute walk, an artistic hobby, music, dance, painting or photography can relax you and give you a sense of accomplishment and contribution to society. Employees should remember about their free time and try to separate the time when they’re working and the time when they’re resting. Trying to respect a healthy work-life balance, they can overcome this professional disease. en_US
