dc.description.abstract Researchers have established that the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in autonomous vehicles is a rapidly advancing field. However, a critical knowledge gap exists in understanding the ethical implications of AI decisions in real-world scenarios, particularly the moral dilemmas associated with self-driving cars. The goal of this paper is to investigate and shed light on these ethical challenges, aiming to contribute valuable insights to the responsible development and deployment of AI in autonomous vehicles. To achieve this goal, we employed a multidisciplinary approach, utilizing simulated scenarios, real-world data analysis, and ethical frameworks to comprehensively examine the decision-making processes of AI algorithms in autonomous vehicles Our findings reveal the intricate balance between prioritizing passenger safety, adhering to traffic regulations, and considering the well-being of other road users, highlighting the ethical trade-offs inherent in AI-driven decision-making. This study emphasizes the need for transparent decision-making processes and robust ethical frameworks in the development and deployment of autonomous vehicles, ensuring the responsible integration of AI technology in the automotive industry. en_US
