dc.description.abstract In the research, negative cardiovascular effects were monitored during the application of total intravenous anesthesia in dogs. 6 dogs, aged between 1 and 6 years, weighing between 7 and 35 kg, of which 5 females and one male from the breeds: Golden retriever, Tax, Samoyed and 3 dogs of common breed were investigated. The patients required anesthesia for the following surgical interventions: ovariohysterectomy (2), one of which was complicated by pyometra, osteosynthesis (2), amputations (1), gastrotomy (1). Total intravenous anesthesia was performed with the following preparations: a) premedication with Meditomidine; b) induction with Ketamine, Propofol and Diazepam; c) maintenance with Fentanyl (constant rate infusion). To evaluate the negative effects, such as bradycardia, arrhythmia, hypotension, hypothermia and bradypnea, the following vital parameters were monitored: heart rate, electrocardiogram, temperature, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, CO2 level in expired air. The following preparations were used to prevent and remedy adverse cardiovascular effects: Atropine sulfate, Gelofusine, continuous intravenous infusion with Hartman solution and Dopamine, in cases where the body does not react to these preparations. In all 6 cases, it was possible to prevent and remedy the negative effects that occurred during the interventions. en_US
