dc.description.abstract A study carried out during the year 2023, in which the incidence, evaluation and management of patients with various types of trauma were investigated. During the mentioned period, 500 animals were hospitalized, of which 61 (12%) suffered trauma. Of the total number, 27 are dogs (44.27%) and 34 are cats (55.73%). According to the origin of the animals, it is found that cats with owners (58.8%) and stray dogs (59.2%) are more exposed to various traumas. Traumas are classified into 3 categories: blunt - 29.5%, penetrating 36% and combined 34.5%. As therapeutic management 52.5% of animals with trauma underwent surgical treatment and pathognomic treatment was used in 47.5% of animals. Following diagnosis and specific treatment, 49 animals (80%) were discharged, and about 8% of the cases ended in death due to post-traumatic injuries incompatible with life, and another 7 animals (11.4%) were euthanized because of the injuries suffered which were not compatible with life. en_US
