dc.description.abstract | The orthopaedic shoemaker faces a major problem from the outset. No two customers are alike. It is not just a case of different sizes between the right foot and left, as one may be normal and other not. Alternatively, they may both be of a totally different shape. This clearly leads to a manner of manufacturing problems and it is for this reason that orthopaedic footwear is normally so expensive.
