Abstract

Simulation methods in the creation of the garments shape. The high level of competition in the apparel industry market requires the introduction of innovations in manufacture, materials, and design. The method of draping allows developing an innovative design in a short term with minimal costs. This method combines conceptual design, pattern making and research of the creation of products using new materials. The use of draping technique in garment manufacturing gives the possibility to change the scheme of the designing process, which will contribute to the simultaneous execution of the following steps: research, concept, design, and prototype. The use of draping methods requires many professional skills; understanding of the principles of the pattern making and the relationships between body and the garment; the ability of detection and elimination of design flaws etc. The designer who masters the draping method can engage in creating innovative models without fear. He never asks himself: "how can I make it?", but is interested only in the question "what do I want to do?" and "what materials can I use?”. Having answers to these questions, the designer is able to develop any idea, implementing it in a product with innovative features.
