dc.description.abstract The aim of this paper is to present the results of teaching Mechanics to students from Textile knitting and clothing technology from Faculty of Engineering, Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu. Traditionally, the Mechanics has been taught using lectures, practical classes and tutorials and the students learnt to solve problems using classical methods (using paper and pencils). Also, the students lean to solve problems using computers and free or proprietary software, checking the theoretical and practical results. Using computer in the teaching activity will transfer the instructional purpose from the teacher to the student. Using the PBL (Problem Based Learning) and CBT (Computer Based Training) strategies will permit to students to increase their knowledge and understanding a particular subject, to develop problem-solving skills and to develop their specific language and computer/information technology (IT) skills. en_US
