Abstract:
The paper presents the results of the study on morphometric indices of local and imported Carpathian bees. It was found that the worker bee mass obtained from the local Carpathian queens is, on average, 112.9 mg, the imported ones' - 122.0 mg and the first generation's - 117.6 mg, without the digestive tract - 75.6; 90.0, and 74.7 mg, respectively. It was found that worker bees obtained from the local queens have some morphometric indices higher than the imported ones by the length of the horn, the length and the width of the big right wing, the length of the tergite-3, the length and the width of the tarsus-3, and the ulnar index. Those bees obtained from the imported Carpathian queens have higher indices such as resignation between tergite-3 prominences, sternite-3 length, sternite-3 width, wax gland length and positive discoid dislocation.
