Growth and fruiting of cherry trees depending on the variety and pruning system

Abstract

The researches were carried out, in the central fruit-growing area of the Republic of Moldova, in 2 stationary experiments. The growth and fruiting of the cherry varieties Valerii Cikalov and Record, grafted on mahaleb, at a distance of 6 x 5 m, and of the varieties Ferrovia, Adriana and Skeena, grafted on Gisela 6, planted at a distance of 4x2 m, were studied. The growth spurts of the annual branches in the studied varieties, they are due to staggered cuts of the semi-skeleton branches, to maintain the optimal parameters of the geometric structure of the crown, a fact that contributed to a normal differentiation of the fruit buds for the following year. The position of biennial branches in space is among the most important characteristics for obtaining quality cherries. The shortening of the shoots to the length of 20-40 cm is carried out, when they reach the length of 50-60 cm, for the differentiation of the flower buds at the base of the shoots and the formation of 1-3 vegetative buds above the flowering ones.

Cercetările au fost efectuate, în zona pomicolă de centru a Republicii Moldova, în 2 experiențe staționare. S-a studiat creșterea și fructificarea soiurilor de cireș Valerii Cikalov și Record, altoite pe mahaleb, la distanţa de 6 x 5 m și a soiurilor Ferrovia, Adriana şi Skeena, altoite pe Gisela 6 plantate la distanța de 4x2 m. Sporurile de creştere a ramurilor anuale la soiurile luate în studiu se datoresc tăierilor eşalonate a ramurilor de semischelet, de menţinere a parametrilor optimi a structurii geometrice a coronamentului, fapt ce a contribuit la o diferenţiere normală a mugurilor de rod pentru anul următor. Poziția ramurilor bienale în spațiu este printre cele mai importante caracteristici pentru obținerea cireșelor de calitate. Scurtarea lăstarilor la lungimea de 20-40 cm se efectuează, când ei ating lungimea de 50-60 cm, pentru diferențierea mugurilor florali la baza lăstarilor și formarea 1-3 muguri vegetativi deasupra celor floriferi.
