Abstract:
In different fields such as for environmental, industrial and biomedical applications precise monitoring of volatile species become increasingly important. The development of nanosensors and oxide-based sensors has good potential to meet the current demands of industries, but the sensors need to be tailored to different special characteristics that will give the best results in different environments. In this paper, different hybrid material sensors are proposed to show the potential of using the combination of several materials, such as metal oxides and polymers, to achieve high sensor responses for different gases with values up to 573% for hydrogen and 250% for 2-propanol just by coating metal oxide nanostructures with ultrathin layers of different polymers. This is a short overviews of our current research on such hybrid sensors.
