dc.description.abstract In 2019, 55 years have passed since the founding of the Technical University of Moldova and 60 years since the adoption of the strategic decisions regarding the creation in the republic of a dominant electrical industry in the national economy. In the paper, a retrospective is made on the stages of initiation and development, and the periods of ascent and regression of this important branch of engineering. At the same time, there are mentioned gaps and lessons to be learned for the current and future generations of teachers and engineers in this field. en_US
